When my mom and I flew from DC Reagan her bag fit their measuring contraption going infintessimally over the line and they charged her. When I showed that you could just pack it differently it was way under. The lady said "ow well you already paid. How was I supposed to know" Well I knew and its not even my fucking job. When I asked to speak to a manager she threatened to call security. Call the police you bitch and they'll arrest you for stealing. CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT ANYONE

THEY are a threat to airport safety not US. its stressfull enough to fly on an airline that treats you with respect. how are they still in business?

ReplyDeleteI also agree that we as Americans should take a stand against this trend of hiden clauses like "Cancel for any reason" and then negate what they are advertising. And being nickel-N dimed by the banks, credit cards, air lines, cruises, etc.
Interesting that Egypt is being mentioned. The reason why it was so succesful is that it was made possible by the new revolution of social networking, like Face Book, Twitter, texting and others.. A perfect example here in the U.S., was the massive campaign launched on Face Book to have Betty White host Saturday Night Live. It worked! and she gained a new generation of fans; boosting her carrier.
I think we are just beggining to comprehend the POWER of this new tool accross the world. What do I suggest? Hit these companys where it hurts: THE MONEY. I think that if a corporation or bussines is not delivering on its promises, or if you're tired of rising fees, we need to send a message. And that is to literaly send a message to as many people as you can to BOYCOT those institutions, and have those people in turn send it to as many people as they know, and so on and so forth. That is why Egypt succeded. We need to use this powerful weapon for more than just "fluff". Sorry Betty. I stil love ya!
It's also a double edged sword. You can spread the word about decent companies that do deliver.
Oh, and I won't be flying on July 10 - 16. And I won't fly if I can help it, period. (I'll take the bus or drive, etc)
